More Information | Sizing for military, police and fire department uniform cap orders:
It is important to have your head properly measured when purchasing a new uniform cap. Measurement is best done with a second person, ideally a uniform tailor or QM. Uniform caps are approximately a half size larger than a beret. Uniform cap measuring procedure: Place a soft tape measure over the brow, around the head 1 cm above the ears, and above the bump at the back of the head – then back around to the front. The soft measuring tape should be horizontal and parallel to the floor. The soft tape measure should be held firm and pulled tightly. ![]() Your measurement can be in centimeters or inches, and using the conversion chart provided below – converted to a hat size. ![]() Your uniform cap should fit snug and firm, but not too tight. Uniform caps fit more firmly than a beret or ball cap. Uniform caps can be stretched slightly. To reduce the size, a strip of foam can be added behind the sweatband. |
